Legal
Terms & Conditions
The terms you agree to when you book a table or reserve an event place through this site. Plain English, no small print — and your legal rights are untouched.

1. Who we are
This website is operated by Corner Pub Limited, a private limited company registered in England & Wales under company number 17132283, whose registered office is at 38b Oswald Road, Scunthorpe, England, DN15 7PQ.
We trade as Oxford Social from 88-94 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 5WH. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Corner Pub Limited, and “you” means the person using this site or making a booking.
You can contact us at hello@oxso.co.uk.
2. About these terms
These terms apply whenever you use this site, book a table, or reserve a place at an event. By doing any of those things you accept them. Please read them — if you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site to book.
This site does not sell anything. It shows you the menu and what’s on, and it lets you book a table or put your name on a guestlist. Everything you eat and drink is bought and paid for in the pub, at the bar, under the ordinary rules that apply to any pub.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law. Where anything here conflicts with your statutory rights, your statutory rights win.
3. Using this site
You may use this site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t misuse it — no attempting to gain unauthorised access, no automated scraping or bulk requests, and no making bookings you have no intention of keeping. Repeated no-shows may mean we decline future bookings.
We limit how many requests a single connection can make in an hour to keep the site working for everyone. If you hit that limit you’ll be asked to wait a few minutes.
We try to keep the site available, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw it for maintenance or business reasons.
4. Table bookings
Table bookings are free. We take no card details and no deposit. A booking is a reservation of a place for a party of a given size at a given time — not a contract for one particular table.
A booking is confirmed the moment the site says it is. You will get a reference and a confirmation email straight away. If the site cannot take the booking it tells you so at the time, and nothing is held.
Your confirmation email contains a private link that lets you change or cancel the booking yourself. Anyone holding that link can change or cancel that booking, so please treat it as yours alone.
We’ll hold your table for 15 minutes past the booked time. After that we may release it, though we’ll always try to seat you if we can. Please let us know if you’re running late or your plans change.
We may need to move, shorten or cancel a booking — for example if we have to close unexpectedly. We’ll tell you as soon as we can, using the contact details you gave us.
Parties of more than 12 are arranged with us by email rather than through the site, because they need tables joining together.
5. Prices and paying
All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the applicable rate. The menu on this site is published in good faith and kept as current as we can, but the price you pay is the price on the menu in the pub at the time you order.
You pay at the bar, by card or in cash. We take no payment through this website and we never see or store your card details.
We take reasonable care to price the menu correctly. If an item is listed here at an obviously wrong price we’ll tell you before you buy it, and you are of course free not to.
6. Age restrictions
You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. We operate Challenge 25: if you look under 25, we will ask for valid photographic ID before serving you.
It is a criminal offence to buy or attempt to buy alcohol if you are under 18, and to buy alcohol on behalf of someone under 18.
We will refuse to serve alcohol to anyone who cannot produce valid ID when asked, and to anyone who appears intoxicated. This applies even where an order has already been rung through — in that case we will refund the alcohol items in full, as set out in our Refund Policy.
8. Allergens
Our kitchen handles nuts, cereals containing gluten, milk, eggs, soya, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, celery, mustard, sesame, lupin and sulphites. We cannot guarantee that any dish is free from any allergen.
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please speak to a member of staff before you order. Allergen information is available on request. The notes box on the booking form reaches our staff before you arrive, which helps — but it is not a substitute for telling someone in person, so please do both.
7. Events
Event listings show what we currently plan to run. Line-ups, timings and details can change, and occasionally an event has to be cancelled.
Reserving a place puts your name on the guestlist. It costs nothing at the time and takes no card details. Where an event carries a charge you pay it on the door, and the listing says so before you sign up. If we cancel an event we will email everyone on the guestlist.
8. Refund Policy
Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms and explains exactly when you are entitled to a refund, how to ask for one, and how long it takes.
In summary: if what we serve you is wrong, not of satisfactory quality, or never arrives, we will replace it or refund it — normally at the bar, there and then. Table bookings are free, so cancelling one costs nothing and refunds nothing.
9. Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and explains what personal data we collect when you book a table or join the mailing list, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it under UK GDPR.
In summary: we collect only what we need to hold your table, we don’t sell your data or run tracking on this site, and we never handle your card details at all.
10. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses — we supply our food and drink for domestic and private use.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or internet failure, supplier failure, extreme weather, or an emergency closure. If one happens we’ll contact you as soon as we can, and you will not be charged for anything we cannot serve.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on this page at the time you make it, so please check before booking. The “last reviewed” date at the top tells you when we last changed anything.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts as well as in the English courts.
